What is Democracy?Democracy is simply defined as free equal representation of people. The free and equal right of every person to participate in a system of government, often practiced by electing represntatives of the people by majority of the people. Democracy is a form of government. It is govern by the constitution signed on July 4th 1776 also known as Independence Day. Democracy was created so that the people in the state have an equal chance of electing who they wanted to rule and therefore become presdent. This would be fair. Their are two parties that battle head to head to be president. These two parties are the Democrats and the Republicans. The democrats are usually for helping the middle class, whereas Republicans a minority party support the upper (rich) class. Both Democrats and Republicans have different views on social issues and are voted on for their power. The Democratic party is the majority party. The Democratic party was founded by Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and other historical people. Democracts are the oldest political party in today's world. This is the background of the Democratic government as we know it.
